Reset Group Policy Objects using Command Prompt

Thanks to the local group policy editor we can configure almost any aspect of your Windows 10 that you want. However sometimes we may make a configuration that we would later want to revert to the default state. This can be simple in case we decide to revert the configuration of a single configuration, however sometimes it may happen that we want to revert each and every configuration made.

In this case the first thing you have to Open command prompt with Administrator privilegeswe show you how to revert all the settings of the local group policy editor at the same time or otherwise revert a Group Policy setting to the default state:

Enter these commands in Command Prompt and execute them one by one.

RD /S /Q "%WinDir%\System32\GroupPolicyUsers"
RD /S /Q "%WinDir%\System32\GroupPolicy"
gpupdate /force

When done, please restart your computer.

After executing this second command you will notice that the CMD will not show any type of message in response to the entered commands, ie it will not inform if the commands have executed correctly. However you should not worry because everything will have been done correctly.

Now you only have to close Command Prompt to restart your computer with Windows 10. This will cause all settings in the local group policy to be reset and therefore have the default settings and settings. The local group policy editor is a tool that is only available in Windows 10 Pro or Enterprise because in the Home version of Windows 10
